Gypsophila elegans Covent Garden White – 2g
Commonly known as Baby’s Breath, Gypsophila is popularly grown to provide flower arranging material.
It has green-grey foliage which forms branch heads on which beautiful small sprays of white flowers sit.
Thrives best in lime or chalk soils but will grow in most soil types that are well drained and in a sunny position. The flowers are at their best during the months June to September. Grows to around 60cm tall and spreads up to 30cm. Seed is best sown in either September or April in the chosen site for flowering and then thinned out to required spacing. Gypsophila is a fast growing, bushy annual and is full hardy.

Ensure your chosen site is free of weeds. Rake to a fine tilth and sow by hand evenly by sowing half of the seed lengthways and the other half widthways. Rake again lightly and gently firm the soil. Protect from birds if necessary until established and water when required but be careful not to over water.
